He is from my college, well settled in the US and is earning way more than me. We both are of the same age, but his savings are 5 times than mine.
I am really upset about my career growth – said one of my friends.
How does it matter and why are you comparing your personal growth with your friend’s career. – I asked inquisitively.
It does matter. We have done BTech from the same college and I am stuck here in India at a very low package, whereas my friend is working in a top MNC at a very senior level.
Shouldn’t I be worried about my career? – The friend replied Tell me why do you want to earn money?
What is the motivation? – I asked I want to make my parents proud! – he replied. You live with them under one roof. And I am sure your parents would be proud of you, even if you aren’t earning a hefty amount. Pushing Boundaries instead of comparing yourself with others, try to understand yourself better and work upon improving yourself.
That will really help you grow in your career. – I replied. The friend seemed confused! Do you think I gave him the right answer? Should people compare themselves with others or try to improve their own self bit by bit?
