I am looking for a job change. I am neither appreciated nor recognized for the work I do here. I feel demotivated here – said one of my friends.
But have you spoken to your manager about it? Maybe he is unknown to your situation. – I suggested “No, I haven’t. And I am not supposed to tell him all of this.”
He is my manager, and he should appreciate my work if I am doing my best”. – my friend replied furiously. “You are right but try talking to him once else you can look out for a change”. – I suggested The very next day, my friend spoke to the manager about his apprehension and the manager told him exactly the same thing- “You should have told me earlier.”
He was also awarded the star performer award within the same month. Today, my friend is happily working in the same firm and delivering awesome products for the company. Lesson for all the managers- Take feedback from your teammates in a positive way and try to act upon it. Or you might end up losing a good employee. Thoughts!
