Arrogant

Sales leaders are often arrogant.

The more arrogant, the less seriously I take them as long-term executives.

Why?

Well, besides generally being turned off by arrogance, I know that it doesn’t scale at the executive level.

You can get away with it for a bit…

Young founder.
Stretch Executive hires.
Inexperienced counterparts.

But…when the company grows? When the real folks move in?

Nah.

I know, I know…

Someone will do some Googling and find some arrogant leaders who went the whole way.

Others will talk about Elon Musk or whatever.

There are always exceptions to every rule.

But mostly?

Arrogance is for the weak.

Be strong.
Stay humble.
Have humility.
Go long.
