So here introducing a series of products that failed, and the lessons we should learn from the failures.
Product – Google+ Launch year – 2011 Shut down year – April 2019 Google + was launched without a clear plan and just out of the need to counter Facebook, which had been around for seven years and was getting popular. When Google + was launched, it had no clear differentiation from Facebook which was gaining traction with users. The result – After losing millions of dollars in product development and marketing, Google had to shut down the product in the year 2019.
Lesson – Don’t create a product in haste just to counter your competition. Define clear POD’s and the problem statement that your product is supposed to solve, and then go about launching it. What according to you could be the possible reasons for the product failure? How could have Google avoided it?
