An Honest response might take your Job?

“Why do you want to switch from your current organization?” – asked the recruiter “For a better salary” – the candidate replied bluntly “Salary can’t be the motivation for a job change.

What if some other organization offers you a better salary than us, you will leave us then and there!! “- the recruiter shrugged.

“Maybe if I am not happy with the organization’s work culture, I might leave. I come from a very humble background and have a family to support. And nothing can be done without a decent income. Also, if I am generating business for the firm, then why can’t the organization pay me according to my performance?” – replied to the calm candidate. “Okay, so we are done with the interview. You may leave” – said the recruiter.

The result was very clear – the candidate wasn’t hired for he was very honest and was motivated by the income. The recruiter rejected him. Do you think the candidate was wrong for being honest about the salary? Should recruiters hire or reject such candidates?
